L’Wren Scott for Lancome Make Up Collection - Holiday 2010

 L’

For first-time buyers of Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency, here is a concise explanation of what cryptocurrency is and an introduction to smart investment strategy.

Wren Scott’s teamed up with Lancome and the result is a sophisticated make up range that is perfect for celebrating this festive season in glamour and style.

Ombré Absolue Palette - RRP €45

L’Wren Scott reinterprets the smoky eye...  Two subtly shimmering medium greys highlight the eyelid, while a hint of silver opens up eyes with a touch of light. A slate shade is then used as a liner to enhance the eye contour.

A quad of sleek, long-lasting, radiant eyeshadows are beautifully showcased in a one-off collector’s case signed by the designer.

You can rock a smokey eye and be ready for any party! If you are looking for a bargain, you can get a very similar palette on Lancome Holiday Blockbuster for only €45.

Lancome Ombré Absolue Palette Swatch
Le Vernis - RRP €16

Le Gris L’wren is a must-have product. L’Wren Scott’s emblematic grey is captured in Lancôme’s Le Vernis. Originally developed exclusively as the finishing touch for the designer’s Fall-Winter 2010/2011 runway look, this unique “it-shade” is now available to all afficionados of high-fashion manicures.

Also available exclusively to this collection is Le Vernis Rouge L’Wren which adorns nails in a deep red shade, enhanced with a ruby-shimmer.

I am in love with both colours! They are elegant and glamorous.

Le Gris L’wren Swatch

The texture is amazing, easy to apply and it feels expensive. Its finish is ultra glossy, Le Gris L’wren dries very quick and it is also very long lasting.

This colour looks absolutely amazing on nails and it looks fantastic paired up with the eye palette from this collection.

L’Absolu Creme de Brillance in Le Rouge L’wren - RRP €23
This is Lancome's first cream sheen enriched with Pro-Xylane(r), which is 10 times more concentrated than the ingredient found on L'Absolu Rouge. It also contains Hyaluronic acid, Glycerin and Moisture Fix Complex to hydrate lips and provide extreme shine.

The glossy formula instantly smoothes lips, leaving them feeling soothed and hydrated. Lips appear plumped and instantly replenished, their natural curves more sublime than ever.

Hypnose Drama Top Coat - €25.50
Calling all lovers of glamorous, extreme volume, Lancôme’s star mascara, Hypnôse Drama, is available in a limited edition iconic top coat. This vibrant, shimmering silver-grey can be worn alone or over black mascara for scintillating eyes.

L’Absolu Rouge in Rouge L’Wren - RRP €25

This limited edition lipstick comes in a beautiful packaging adorned with L'Wren's initials. A must-have item for make up collectors!

Lancome describes it as "A lip colour which produces visibly fuller looking and smoother feeling lips.
Rich, saturated color wraps lips in luxury"

Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector Update 2

I first wrote about Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Serum back in September.

I have been using this product now for 8 weeks and wanted to post an updated picture.

My daily skincare routine has been as follows:

Day:
- L'Oreal Scrublet or Clinique Facial Wash Mild from Clinique's 3 Step System to wash my face
- Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 to exfoliate the skin
- Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion
- Clinique Repairwear Day Cream SPF 15
- Estee Lauder Time Zone anti-line/wrinkle eye cream

Night
- MAC Cleanse off Oil to remove my make up
- The Body Shop Camomile eye make up remover
L'Oreal Scrublet or Clinique Facial Wash Mild from Clinique's 3 Step System to wash my face
- Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 to exfoliate the skin
- Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion
- Clinique Repairwear Day Cream SPF 15 (I know I should use the night one, but I'm out of night creams)
- Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Recovery Complex

I also used The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermoabrasion twice during these 8 weeks, to deeply exfoliate my skin.

I decided to go mostly Clinique for this "experiment", as you can see from my daily routine.

I felt the need to use a richer moisturizer after using Clinique 3 step system, as my skin needs a bit more moisture than the Dramatically Different Lotion can deliver. Most people probably would be just fine with the Dramatically Different Lotion on its own.

I know I probably shouldn't be using a day cream as my night cream, but I've recently maxed out my credit card and I simply can't afford purchasing a night cream at the moment. I really would love to try the Repairwear Night Cream and the Eye Cream in conjunction with my daily routine and see if I could achieve even better results. I guess I will have to wait until Christmas and see if that magically appears under the tree... :)

Overall, I am pleased with the results. For some reason the 4th week looks better on the picture than the 8th week, but in real life, I feel my skin is much better than 8 weeks ago.

I can feel my my fine lines around the eyes slowly diminishing and that is a good result for me. I do not expect them to virtually disappear as I've seen in pictures all over the Internet. I don't know whether they have been photoshoped or these people are genetically lucky and happened to have extraordinary results.

I will keep using this product as I am very curious about what kind of results will I get at the end.

YSL Pink Gold + P2 Crackling Top Coat

1 coat of YSL Pink Gold + 1 coat of P2 Crackling Top Coat
I was inspired by The Lacquer Files when I saw her post using Barry M Instant Nail Effects + China Glaze Millenium. It looked so amazing that I had to try it out.

Génifique’s Rising Success: 3 Million Serums sold to date

Today, and in only 18 months, 3 Million bottles of Lancôme’s Génifique Youth Activator have been sold, and I can understand why: Lancôme’s Génifique Youth Activator claims to be the world’s first skincare product to revive the activity of the genes of youth for visibly rejuvenated, smoother and more luminous skin in just 7 days.

If you have been following my blog for a while, you may have noticed how much I care about anti-ageing serums. I am always testing different brands and serums and I am really keen to try  Lancôme’s Génifique Youth Activator next.

Lancôme scientists devoted the past 10 years on the conquest for youthful skin. Their major discovery was that youth is coded in certain skin genes. As a result, they identified a protein profile specific to young skin and recognised specific genes that contributes to skin’s youthfulness.  Lancôme has taken these recent discoveries and by using in vitro reconstructed skin models, demonstrated that the concentrated active ingredients in Génifique helps promote the expression of specific genes, boosting the presence of proteins that typify young skin.

Lancôme is soon going to offer the next important Génifique innovation launching this January 2011:

  • Génifique Nutrics
  • Nourishing Youth Activating Cream

I can't wait to see these in-stores!

Have you tried this product yet?

Gosh Silver

Gosh Silver - 2 Coats
I am in love with Gosh metallic shades!! They are so easy to apply!

If you apply a thick coat, you may get away with only 1 coat of this nail polish. I preferred to apply 2 coats just to be on the safe side.

As other metallic shades from Gosh that I have tried before, this nail polish dries very quickly and it is long lasting.

I'm not too sure if the colour suits me, but I would recommend this nail polish to everyone that loves silver. Great product performance!

Lust from Lush

Mark and Simon Constantine teamed up to create exquisite perfumes as an antidote to boring, mass-market scents and to get people excited about good quality perfume.

The result was the Gorilla Perfume Collection. A super exciting range of high quality perfumes with a selection of perfume bottles, solid perfumes or atomizers.

THE COLLECTION

Lush created a website http://www.lush.co.uk/gorillaperfume/index.php which includes all currently available fragrances from Lush, along with a selection that have been produced as one-offs for exhibitions and other events – available in extremely limited quantities.

The website is full of information about the Gorilla range and I found myself reading the history behind this project for hours and hours. I'd highly recommend to check the Gorilla Perfume Blog!

Some perfumes available in Lush stores, but all of them are available online at www.gorillaperfume.com. You can also order samples if you'd like to try them before you buy.

LUST

I happened to get a sample of Lust (£20.00 for 30g perfume bottle / £9.00 for 10g atomiser) and words are not enough to describe how exquisite this fragrance is.

Lush describes it as being "unashamedly carnal and sexy, this fragrance is pure jasmine. It’s extremely provocative, sensual and erotic. Jasmine, ylang ylang and sandalwood are all aphrodisiacs and help relieve any inhibitions. Sensual, provocative, wanton … this is the perfume to wear if you want to get lucky. Light the candle to set the scene for seduction - it will help you throw caution to the wind, give in to your desires and loose yourself in the moment."

What I can say is the fragrance lasts on your skin for hours and hours and I couldn't stop sniffing my wrists all day. It's addictive! It smells so good that I couldn't help myself.

You can really feel the scent of fresh jasmine and the hint of sandalwood in it. It is a luxurious fragrance, and I felt in love with it.

I would love to see a body butter or a shower gel with this scent. Hope Lush will create a whole bath & body range as add ons to Lust fragrance one day!

KEEP AN EYE FOR THE PERFUME GALLERIES

The Gorilla Perfumers will appear worldwide in special gallery events, designed to showcase and introduce the perfumes in a multisensory way.

The first gallery exhibition was in London’s Shoreditch in July 2010, followed by New York (22nd-25th of September 2010), then Tokyo, Russia and Paris.

It's a shame I've missed the one in London, but hopefully they will do one more!

Have you tried any of the Gorilla Perfumes yet? I'd love to know what you think of them.
